Aims & Objectives

  1. To improve the quality of educational provision and training in schools and communities in the developing world, especially in Africa.
  2. To optimize existing educational resources and mobilise additional resources for school and community improvement.
  3. To develop links between institutions of learning and communities in western countries (especially United Kingdom and develping countries in Africa) designed to share good practice, expertise, resources, transfer knowledge and capacity.
  4. To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people, teachers and parents in Africa.
  5. To develop and support educational activities related to civic engagement for the empowerment of marginalized and vulnerable groups.
  6. To build in-depth strategic partnerships with public, private, businesses and civil sectors to enhance educational provision and opportunities in Africa.
  7. To work closely with UK institutions of learning to share expertise and resources in support of the improvement in education and children’s/community services in Africa
  8. To improve living standards via creating educationally sustainable schools and communities.
  9. To promote excellence in teaching and learning and a strong educational research culture to stimulate national debate and inform policy development designed to reduce poverty, raise aspirations and create opportunities for young people.
  10. To provide a stimulating, challenging, supportive and technologically rich learning environment, geared towards continuous educational improvement and high standards of achievement for all.
  11. To develop sustainable innovative programs, projects and practices to meet the socio-economic needs of schools and communities which could be replicated on an international scale or be a precursor for future government operations.
  12. To finance rigorous research, carried out by reputable academics and higher education institutions, that regularly makes political waves because it challenges the status quo and poses the questions everyone wants answered.
  13. To encourage smaller charities and support local community groups and organizations that help marginalized people.
  14. To work  closely with relevant government departments to design, review and contribute to education and training policy thereby investing in today’s youngsters and equipping them with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to address problems of living and working.
  15. To promote an atmosphere in which all educational stakeholders and non-stakeholders can feel valued and contribute to sustainable educational financing, provision.
  16. To explore creative and practical ways of helping pupils, parents, teachers and lecturers fulfil their true potential, acquire the knowledge and skills of the latest subjects and pedagogical research that underpins truly excellent classroom practice in all phases of education.
  17. To introduce and develop ICT in education to raise standards, widen access and participation, improve skills of living and working and encourage effective educational leadership, management and governance in schools and communities in Africa.

How do we achieve these objectives?

  1. By building capacity via workshops and seminars; developing training programmes for schools, teachers, parents, trainers, education managers, school management board and the local community
  2. By  monitoring and evaluating the quality of educational provision and training and show a clear commitment to continuing professional development
  3. By organising seminars for managers, training programmes for teachers, trainers; sharing good practice through seminars, workshops, conferences, lesson observations, book reviews, journal articles, CD ROMS, DVDs, TV programmes
  4. By working closely with employers in the community to identify existing skills gaps then work with education providers to address them e.g. via internships and subsequent employment of students
  5. By improving the ways human and material resources are managed and used in schools and communities, recognising that the school is a complex social institution that operates within a wider socio-cultural and political context
  6. improving the quality of leadership, management and governance in schools and communities
  7. By promoting learning opportunities to employers and employees in a range of workplaces and to people in local communities
  8. By developing and building environmentally sustainable school infrastructure to meet 21st century educational needs of young people and accommodate the rapid demographic growth
